Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
DentalNest is a professional network for Egypt's dental community. This policy explains what information we collect, who can see it, and the choices you have. DentalNest is operated by [operator / company name].
1. Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, password (we store only a secure one-way hash of it, never the password itself), and account type.
- Professional details: university, graduation year, specialty, years of experience, bio, governorate and city, and a profile photo.
- Business details (clinics, laboratories, stores, companies): business name, description, phone, email, address, location, and logo.
- Content: posts (including earlier versions of a post when you edit it), photos and videos, comments and replies, likes on posts and comments, follows, and which of your posts you add to your portfolio.
- Jobs: job posts, applications, application messages, and CVs you attach.
- Products: product listings you add, including name, description, category, condition, price, stock status, and photos.
- Messages: direct messages you send to other members, including photos and PDF files you attach, your reactions to messages, and which messages you deleted for yourself. For group chats: the group's name, who is in it, who added them, who is an admin, and when each member last read it.
- Verification documents: a syndicate card, student ID, or business licence, if you request a verification badge. By submitting one, you consent to the DentalNest team reviewing the information it contains for the sole purpose of verifying your identity and professional status. You give this consent in a pop-up before sending, and we record the date and time you gave it.
- Reviews: star ratings and reviews you write about businesses, and the replies a business writes to reviews.
- Events: events and courses you post (including any cover photo and links), and the events you mark as “Interested”.
- Reports: reports you send about content or accounts.
- Clinics on the public page: for verified clinic accounts, the business name, logo, description, governorate, city, address, business phone, business email, and review rating are shown on the public “Find a dental clinic” page, which anyone can open without an account, so patients can contact the clinic. A clinic can change or remove its business phone, email, and address in Edit profile.
- Workplaces: where you work (or, for a business, who works there), with the role and dates you enter. A link shows only after both sides confirm; once confirmed, every signed-in member can see it on both profiles. Either side can remove it at any time.
- For You feed: which posts, events, and products the For You feed showed you (kept for 14 days, so a refresh shows you new things and nothing repeats), and which product pages you opened (counted once per product; only the total is used, to rank marketplace picks, and nobody can see who opened what).
- Feedback: messages you send us with “Send feedback”, with the page you were on, your browser and device type, and any screenshot you add.
- Blocks: the members you block.
- Invite codes: the code you used to join, if sign-up is invite-only.
2. Information collected automatically
Our server and our hosting providers keep technical logs (for example IP address, browser type, and the time of requests) to run and secure the service. Your browser stores a login session so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.
3. Who can see your information
- Signed-in members can see your name, photo, professional details, location, posts, portfolio, comments, likes (including the posts you liked, on the Liked tab of your profile), followers, jobs you post, and products you list. Who follows you and who you follow is visible too, unless you make those lists private in Settings; then only you can see them, and you don’t appear in other members’ lists (except to the person you follow or who follows you). The numbers of followers and followed accounts are always visible. Members you block, and members who block you, can't see your posts, comments, jobs, products, or business listing, and you can't see theirs.
- Reviews you write are visible to signed-in members with your name, photo, and verification badge; a business's replies to reviews are visible the same way. Reviews between members who blocked each other are hidden from both.
- Events you post are visible to signed-in members, with your name as the organizer. When you mark an event as “Interested”, only you and that event's organizer can see it; everyone else sees only the total number.
- Your block list is visible only to you. We don't tell anyone that you blocked them.
- Your phone number and email on a personal account are never shown to other members.
- Business pages are public: anyone, including people who are not signed in, can see a business's name, description, phone, email, address, and location. Only enter details you want to be public.
- Job applications, messages, and CVs are visible only to you and the job's poster (for applications and CVs) or the other person in the conversation (for messages and message reactions). “Delete for me” hides a message only for you; “Delete for everyone” erases its text and deletes its attached files for both of you, and the other person sees that a message was deleted. In DentalNest, photos and files sent in messages can only be opened by the two people in the conversation, through links that expire after 10 minutes. In a group chat, everyone currently in the group sees its name, its member list, and every message, reaction, photo and file sent in it, including ones sent before they joined; people who leave or are removed stop seeing it. Any group admin can add or remove members.
- Edit history: when you edit a post, the earlier text is kept and signed-in members who can see the post can see every earlier version.
- Verification documents and reports and feedback you send are visible only to you and the DentalNest team.
- Saved jobs, job alerts, and product alerts are visible only to you.
- The DentalNest team can access information when needed to review reports, verify accounts, keep the service secure, or comply with the law.
4. How we use information
- To create and run your account and show your profile and content to other members.
- To connect job posters and applicants, show product listings to members, deliver messages, and send in-app notifications.
- To order the For You feed: posts, events, and products with more likes, comments, interest, or views, from accounts you follow, and that you haven't seen yet come first. Nothing is shown to people who couldn't already see it.
- To send account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password reset. If you haven't seen them in the app after 10 minutes, we also email you about new messages, job applications and application updates, and verification results, and the day before an event you marked as “Interested” we send a reminder. These emails never include the text of your messages, and you can turn each kind off in Settings or with the link in the email.
- To review reports, verify accounts, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Service providers and where data is stored
These providers process data on our behalf:
- Hetzner Online (Germany): the server that runs our database, login, and messages. Your account, profile, content, and messages are stored there.
- Cloudflare: storage for uploaded files (photos, videos, CVs, and verification documents), and our domain name service.
- Resend: sends our emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, and the notification emails you have switched on): your email address and the email's content.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
Some of these providers may process data in countries outside Egypt. Until our move to our own server in November 2026, data was stored with Supabase; we will delete that copy after the move.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, content, job posts and applications, product listings, messages, files, follows, blocks, and notifications are permanently deleted. Conversations are removed for both participants. Technical logs kept by our providers expire on their own schedules.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and correct: view and edit your profile at any time.
- Emails: turn notification emails on or off in Settings.
- Delete: delete your account from Settings. This cannot be undone.
- Other requests (for example a copy of your data, or an objection to how it is used): email privacy@dentalnest.app.
You may also have rights under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), including the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Centre.
8. Patient information
Do not post information that identifies a patient (names, faces, ID numbers, or records) unless you have the patient's explicit consent. Remove identifying details from clinical photos and cases.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access rules in the database limit who can read each kind of information, and uploaded files are private unless described above. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
10. Age
DentalNest is for adults aged 18 or older.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell members in the app.
